2002

Cityzen is established with a mandate to create exceptional condominiums in the GTA. The company embarks on its first project, Hemingway. The development was completed in 2005.

2005

Cityzen acquires London on the Esplanade. With this acquisition, it becomes the first developer to venture east of Yonge Street. This pioneering move is the beginning of Toronto East.

2007

This was a momentous year for Cityzen. The company launches Pier 27, the largest residential project on Toronto’s waterfront, east of Yonge. It also marks the beginning of Absolute World. Cityzen conducts an international design competition and selects MAD Architects for its iconic Marilyn Monroe design.

2010

Cityzen breaks ground for the iconic L Tower. The company expands its portfolio with the launch of Backstage. It now has three (London on the Esplanade, L Tower and Backstage) very successful projects in the St. Lawrence neighbourhood.

2014

Cityzen launches Garrison Point, the first tower of a master-planned community known as the ordnance triangle. This community includes a brand new 4.5-acre public park and the Garrison Crossing pedestrian and cycle path.

2018

Cityzen and partners look westward, as they acquire Pier 8 in the steel city of Hamilton.

2020

Cityzen has its hands full. With several projects on the go, including Garrison Point, Playground, The Tower at Pier 27, St Lawrence, Art on Main, D’or, 306 Davenport, 3C and 1 Scollard, the company continues to fulfill its mandate.
